VINTAGE - Japanese Oshi-e Hagoita with Fuji Musume and Wisteria Design

This vintage Japanese decorative hagoita features an elaborate raised textile figure of an elegant woman in a richly patterned kimono.

Hagoita have also traditionally been given with wishes for the healthy growth of girls.

The reverse of the wooden paddle is painted with bamboo, plum blossoms, a red sun, and a black crane. These are auspicious Japanese motifs traditionally associated with resilience, renewal, longevity, and good fortune.

Material: Made from a wooden paddle with layered textiles, padded fabric, decorative cords, synthetic or natural fibers, metal or plastic hair ornaments, paint, and adhesive. 

Dimensions: Total length: approximately 60 cm; maximum width at the top: approximately 23.5 cm.

Condition: Vintage, very good condition. The item may show scratches, marks, rubbing, dust, discoloration, and other signs of age and previous display.
