VINTAGE - Japanese Kutani Ware Aochibu Tessen Tea Cups – Set of 2

This elegant set of two vintage Japanese tea cups is made in the distinctive style of Kutani ware (九谷焼), one of Japan’s most recognizable traditions of richly decorated ceramics.

The exterior of each cup features a deep dark background covered with hundreds of tiny turquoise-green dots. This traditional decorative technique is known as aochibu (青粒) and is created by carefully applying small raised dots in an even pattern. The precision and regularity of the dots give the surface a refined, textured appearance.
