Description
Beautiful vintage Japanese Arita ware tea set featuring a traditional kyusu teapot and five matching yunomi tea cups, presented in an elegant wooden storage box with Japanese calligraphy and red seals.
The traditional kyusu teapot features a rounded body, a white side handle, a matching lid, and a short pouring spout. Its compact shape and beautifully coordinated decoration make it a charming example of Japanese teaware.
The five matching yunomi tea cups feature the same delicate floral patterns, with smooth pale interiors and gently rounded shapes. Their traditional design makes them especially suited to serving Japanese green tea.
The original wooden storage box features the inscription 茶器揃 (Chaki-zoroe), meaning "matching tea utensil set," along with a red seal identifying the porcelain as 有田焼 (Arita Ware). An additional inscription reads 林九郎作 (Hayashi Kuro-saku), indicating the name Hayashi Kuro. The exact production date has not been confirmed.
Arita ware is one of Japan's most celebrated porcelain traditions, originating from the town of Arita in Saga Prefecture. Known for its refined porcelain, beautiful blue decoration, and centuries of craftsmanship, Arita ware remains an important part of Japanese ceramic culture.
This elegant tea set makes a beautiful addition to a Japanese teaware collection or a thoughtful gift for lovers of traditional Japanese craftsmanship.
