About the Author

Akane (あかね) is a Japanese language teacher and creator of あかね的日本語教室.

After graduating from university and working for a private company, she completed a master's program at the Graduate School of Letters of Kokugakuin University.

She passed the Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test in 2016 and has taught Japanese as a part-time instructor at Japanese language schools and universities.

In 2018, she launched the YouTube channel あかね的日本語教室, where she shares Japanese-learning content with learners around the world. As of April 2026, the channel had approximately 700,000 subscribers.

She obtained the Registered Japanese Language Teacher (登録日本語教員) qualification in 2025.
