[English] Hobonichi Techo 2027 HON A5 English Edition – Daily Planner, 4 Designs

The Hobonichi Techo 2027 HON A5 English Edition combines Hobonichi's spacious one-page-per-day layout with a built-in hardcover, allowing you to use the planner without adding a separate cover.

The A5 HON follows the same basic layout as the Hobonichi Techo Cousin, offering generous daily pages together with monthly calendars, yearly planning pages, and vertical weekly spreads.

Each planner contains 544 pages and uses thin, smooth Tomoe River paper for planners. The thread-stitched binding allows the planner to open flat for comfortable writing.

The English edition uses an English-language layout and includes one English quote per two-page daily spread.

Design

1. Hiroko Kubota – String Telephone Until the Moon is Full

A peaceful and imaginative HON featuring original artwork by Japanese illustrator Hiroko Kubota.

Set in a breezy meadow beneath a glowing sunset, a cat and wolf talk to each other through a string telephone while a tiny mouse rides a unicycle along the string.

A Ferris wheel and crescent moon appear in the distance, creating a nostalgic scene that captures a quiet moment of communication and the gentle passing of time.

The year 2027 and HON logo are finished in matte silver foil.

2. Yumi Kitagishi – White Cat and Rabbit's Tea Room

A charming HON featuring detailed artwork by illustrator Yumi Kitagishi.

Two works from Kitagishi's Dollhouse series decorate the front and back covers.

On the front, a white cat welcomes visitors while rabbits prepare tea and shortcake. The back depicts animals living inside a house made from books, completely absorbed in reading.

Small flowers and playful details are scattered throughout the design, with 2027 and a tiny white-cat motif decorating the spine.

3. V&A Series – Vine

An elegant HON created in collaboration with the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), London.

The cover features Vine, a celebrated design created by William Morris in 1873 for hand-printed wallpaper.

Clusters of ripe grapes intertwine with lush leaves, reflecting Morris's love of nature and the ideals of the Arts and Crafts movement.

The design is reproduced on a textile-like rayon cover that emphasizes the rich botanical pattern.

4. Slash – Navy

A minimalist HON featuring one of Hobonichi's standard HON designs.

The cover uses an extremely dark navy cotton fabric that appears almost black. A bold diagonal slash is foil-stamped in gold across the cover.

The slash motif is inspired by the forward-slash symbol ( / ) used when writing dates, making it a fitting design for a planner.

The spine is also foil-stamped with 2027 and the HON logo.

Important Notes

English Edition

The English and Japanese editions have the same overall planner format, but some printed information and bonus pages differ.

The English edition includes one English quote per two-page daily spread.

Japanese holidays are not printed in the English-edition calendars.

HON Integrated Cover

The HON combines the planner and hardcover into one book and is designed to be used without a separate Hobonichi Techo cover.

Because of its additional thickness and rigid cover, a standard A5 Hobonichi Techo cover should not be forced onto the HON.

Glossy PP-Coated Designs

The Hiroko Kubota and Yumi Kitagishi versions use glossy PP-coated paper covers.

Hobonichi does not recommend using certain clear covers directly over PP-coated HON models.

Tomoe River Paper

Tomoe River paper is thin, smooth, and designed specifically for planners.

Depending on the pen or ink used, ink may require additional drying time or may show through the thin paper.

Testing unfamiliar pens or inks before regular use is recommended.
